3. Comment: We concur with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service recommendation <br />that Northwestern College protect the forested habitat surrounding Lake <br />Johanna and Little Lake Johanna. <br />Response: As stated in the EAW, in order to avoid impacts to the habitats, <br />especially nesting habitat for migratory birds such as warblers and other <br />songbirds, those areas will be preserved as recommended by the U.S. Fish and <br />Wildlife review. If if is necessary to remove individual trees, native trees will be <br />planted following any development and as much buffer as possib/e will be <br />maintained to enhance fish and wildlife habitat, as recommended by the U.S. <br />Fish and VVildlife review. <br />4. Comment: The proposed alteration of stormwater outfalls offers opportunities for <br />shoreland restoration. The <br />College will continue considering and implementing these and other water <br />conservation practices, as appropriate. <br />Comment: We note that Ramsey County is in the process of county-wide Flood <br />Insurance Restudy. The possibility exists that elevations for Lake Johanna and <br />' Cittle_ Lake Johanna may be changed during this process. <br />; .
