Bryan Lloyd

From: Patrick Schmidt [schmidtp@macalester.edu]
Sent: Friday, November 30, 2007 4:48 PM
To: Bryan Lloyd
Subject: Planning Commission Item 5a
Dear Bryan,
I'm writing to inquire about the background documents for Item 5a coming up at next week's
Planning Commission Action (the proposal for a deli/catering facility at 1901 Lexington
Ave).
Specifically, there is no evidence on the record substantiating the conclusions in
sections 7.2, 7.4, and 7.6, and the neighborhood on Autumn Street (depending on the
success of the incipient mobilization this weekend) wishes to disagree strongly with the
assessments rendered here. In the least, I will be making a presentation suggesting the
inadequacy of consideration given on the record thus far and/or introducing some facts
that bear on the Commission's decision.
What I wish to ask of you is whether you have conducted any research on traffic flow
patterns, for example, that are part of the record. I would be happy to come over to your
offices next week ahead of the Dec. 5th meeting to review them.
Thank you for your time and I'll look forward to speaking with you.
Sincerely,
Patrick Schmidt
1140 Autumn Street
home phone: 651-488-2131
Dr. Patrick Schmidt
Department of Political Science
Macalester College
1600 Grand Avenue
St. Paul, MN 55105 USA
tel: 651.696.6147, fax: 651.696.6758
schmidtp at macalester.edu
1
