To date, we have not received a satisfactory resolution of this
matter and as such, I am writing to ask for your help.
A bit of background will be helpful. Horton is a new company to Roseville, having completed our new headquarters at
2565 Walnut Street in June 2001. During the construction process, we were held to, and complied with, very high
standards with respect to our property. Among other things, we installed a completely paved and curbed parking lot
with all other areas of our property sodded and landscaped according to city code. We believe our new facility adds to
the aesthetic value of the neighborhood and feel that all other properties in the area should do the same. In addition,
as I am sure you are aware, the City continues to upgrade the area around our facility, including recently placing new
sidewalks in the area and repaving Walnut Street.
In contrast, while Dedicated Logistics' property appears nice from the street, the unpaved parking lot to the rear of its
facility is very unsightly (which is accessed by driving up and over curbing that forms the boundry for their official paved
parking area). This area used to be an unpaved grassy area under a previous owner but since Dedicated Logistics
acquired the property, they have been parking vehicles on the area and the grass has been worn down to dirt. The
issue is, when the weather is dry, dirt and dust from this non-paved parking area blow onto Horton's property, dirtying
our building and vehicles. And, when the weather is wet, the area turns into a sea of mud which is a mess. While
Dedicated oistics ras installed somz rip ap alorg their rorth p aperty iine (at city request oniy after we pushed the
issue), and has attempted to do other diversionary work, it is at best a temporary solution and is not aesthetically
pleasing.
Because of these problems, Horton has asked Dedicated Logistics on several occasions to pave the parking area at
the back of their property (including a lunch meeting at our expense to try and solve this amicably as good neighbors).
Initially, Dedicated Logistics said paving the area was "not a priority," but they would look into the cost and respond to
our request. After not hearing from Dedicated Logistics for several months, Horton contacted them again and was
again told paving was "not a priority" without any further assurance of action by Dedicated Logistics.

.;, , ',r.
.,t Engine Cooling Solutions Worldwide°
' nA

;
 www. hortonww. com
_ :
