Additional Required Information: <br />A. A written narrative, in support of a variai�ce application, is nccessaiy. This narrative should <br />fully explain the "hardship" that justifies the departure from the strict application of the <br />Code. The term "hardship" or "undue hardship" typically refers to physical characteristics of <br />the property, such as shape, soil conditions, or extreme topography. Neither mere <br />inconvenience nar reduction in value is sufficient on its own to justify a variance, and the <br />inability to put property to its highest and best use is not considered a hardship or practical <br />difficulty. The problem that justifies the variance must be caused by conditions beyond thc <br />control of the applic;ant. The applicant cannot create the condition that requires the variance. <br />B. Proposed plans (1 copy), including site plan, are required. In addition, a landscape plan. <br />��rading and drainage plan, and exterior building elevation drawings showing building <br />materials may also be required if deemed necessary by the Community Development <br />Department. Such plans shall be on 8'/2"x 11" or 11 "x 17" paper ar in PDF digital fornlat. In <br />cases of multiple variances, the applicant may be required to submit a property <br />boundary and building survey. <br />9. The applicant must obtain a Notice of Land Use Application sign from the Community <br />Development Department and post the sign along the street in front of the variance <br />location. Multiple signs may be required for sites adjacent to more than one street. <br />10.
