Human Rights Commission <br />Meeting Minutes April 17, 2013 <br />Commissioners: Scot Becker, Vice Chair Jill Brisbois (arrived at 7:00 p.m.), Kristin <br />Doneen, Chair Gary Grefenberg, Wayne Groff, David Singleton (left at <br />8:00 p.m.) and Kaying Thao <br />Youth Commissioners: Joan Dao, Julia Laden and Marie Siliciano <br />Staff Present: Carolyn Curti <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />The Human Rights Commission (HRC) meeting was called to arder at 6:35 p.m. Chair <br />Grefenberg requested commissioners to introduce themselves. <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br />Commissioner David Singleton moved and Commissioner Scot Becicer seconded a motion to <br />approve the agenda as distributed. Motion passed unanimously. <br />APPROVE MINUTES <br />Commissioner Wayne Groff requested a change on line 96 stating the essay contest should read <br />2013-2014. <br />Commissioner Singleton moved and Cominissioner poneen seconded a motion to approve the <br />March 20, 2013 meeting minutes as transmitted in the meeting packet and as amended by <br />Commissioner Groff. Motion passed unanimously. <br />PUBLIC COMMENT <br />There being no one present wishing to spealc to the Commission on an item not on the agenda, <br />the chair moved to the next agenda item. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Program Planning Committee <br />Revised Process and Proposed Rubric for 2014 Student Essay Contest: Chair Grefenberg <br />noted that public copies of the revised process and proposed rubric could be found at the <br />entrance to the Council Chamber or by contacting Staff Liaison Carolyn Curti at City Hall. <br />Committee Chair Kris Doneen reviewed the revised proposed rubric for the 2014 student essay <br />contest. She apologized for the delay in getting this to the Commission, as she was waiting to <br />receive feedback from the local teachers. One comment obtained was that due to testing <br />requirements and budget constraints, Roseville Area Middle School (RAMS) may have to stop <br />participating. <br />
