Human Rights Commission Minutes <br />May 15, 2013 —Minutes <br />Page 5 of 5 <br />Carolyn Curti noted the City of Falcon Heights was holding a Spring Get Together on Tuesday, <br />May 21st from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Curtis Field. The celebration would be potluck style. The event <br />was free and open to the public. <br />Future Agenda Items <br />Commissioner Groff indicated he would work with staff to arrange a date and time for the youth <br />commissioner interviews. <br />Carolyn Curti stated last year the interviews were held at the high school and each ran <br />approximately 10-15 minutes. <br />Chair Grefenberg did not anticipate the need for the June HRC Commission meeting. He noted <br />the Rosefest Parade was on the HRC's agenda for June, and advised the Commission he would <br />decide in a few weeks whether there would be a June Commission meeting. <br />Announcements <br />Resignation: Commissioner Kris Doneen indicated she would not be attending the parade and <br />would be out of the country in July. <br />Commissioner poneen also told the Commission that this would be her last HRC meeting <br />because she was resigning. She briefly explained her reasons for her decision, emphasizing that <br />she simply did not have the energy any longer to keep up with the work demanded of the <br />Commission. <br />Chair Grefenberg expressed his surprise and thanked Commissioner poneen far her hard work <br />and friendship. He recommended she be honored for her efforts. <br />Various other commissioners expressed their sadness at Kris' departure, and their appreciation <br />for her service to the Commission. <br />Other Announcements: Chair Grefenberg noted he received an email from Governor Dayton <br />thanking the Roseville HRC for the last year's activity in creating an environment that allowed <br />the issue of gay marriage to be discussed publically, in effect bring that issue out of the closet in <br />Roseville. He thanked each member for speaking out on this issue. <br />Adjournment <br />Youth Commissioner Dao moved and Vice Chair Brisbois seconded a motion to adjourn. <br />Motion passed unanimously. Meeting adjourned at 7:45 p.m. <br />
