*Rain water from about 900 square feet of impervious surface (i.e., the
new garage and nearby driveway) will have to be directed into the rain
garden instead of just flowing past it; how will it get there? Gutters?
Driveway Slope? Swales? Draintile?
*How deep will the rain garden be?
*Will it need to have a berm to prevent water from spilling out?
*What plant material will be used?
Lest that seem too daunting, don't forget that the Ramsey Conservation
District advertizes that it has staff people available to help with
designing a rain garden; Ryan Johnson is listed as the contact person
and he can be reached at ryan.johnson@co.ramsey.mn.us or 651-266-7275.
Remember also that, as we talked about at the conclusion of the Variance
Board meeting, the building permit for your garage cannot be issued
until your rain garden plan is approved by the City Engineer.
As always, feel free to call or email with any questions.
Bryan Lloyd
Associate City Planner
City of Roseville
651-792-7073
bryan.11oydCci.roseville.mn.us
2
. -
