We offer the follow plan for corrective action:
The smaller chiller, which does not now have any screening, will have an enclosure erected that will
not only visually screen it but will afford some acoustical baffling. This work will begin within 10
days and be completed 5 working days after it begins.
The County has engaged a specialized acoustical engineer who will retest the sound
measurements at the property lines and at the machines to verify the effect of the new enclosure.
We know that we are no longer in the heat of the summer. So, we will have our building technicians
at the testing, so that the machines can be made to work at outputs simulating summer cooling
conditions. We will report back to you the engineer's finds.
If we remain non-compliant after these measures are taken, we will continue to work with the
acoustician on next steps to remedy the situation.
Rest assured that our design team has specified, and we have purchased, the quietest machine
available for the large chiller. That is why we are focusing ourefforts on the smaller unit.
We hope this plan will be initially successful. In any case, we are committed to resolving the
situation as quickly as possible. Please contact me directly if you would like to further discuss this
plan. ,
, dG.
,
:erome Biedny, P
ftamsey County, P
660 Government Center West
50 West Kellogg f3oulevard
St. Paul, MN 55102-1657
desk 651.266.2257
fax 651.266.22fi1

ianager
Management
Minnesota's First Nome Rule Count},
Printed un rccded psper ti+ih a i inlnium nf IG" poot-con.umer cont<nt
