REQUEST FOR CITY COUNCIL ACTION <br />Department AppYOVal: City <br />TP <br />DATE: 07/24/06 <br />ITEM NO: g <br />Agenda Secrion: <br />LAND USE <br />Item Description: Request by the Mii�ota State Fair for a FIVE YEAR EXTENSION <br />to their existing INTERIM USE PERMIT allowing park & ride <br />facilities on 8 sites in Roseville (PF3768). <br />1.0 <br />1.1 <br />2.0 <br />REQUESTED ACTION: <br />The Minnesota State Fair seeks an extension to their existing INTERIM USE PERMIT <br />for an additional five years. <br />PROJECT REVIEW HISTORY <br />• Application Submitted and Determined Complete: 06/O 1/06. <br />• 60 Day Review Deadline: 07/31/06. <br />• Project Report Recommendation — 5-0 Approval Recommendation: 7/12/06. <br />• City Council Action: 07/24/06. <br />SUMMARY of RECOMMENDATION: <br />3.1 On July 12, 2006, the Roseville Planning Commission held the public hearing regarding <br />the Minnesota State Fair request and voted (5-0) to recommend approval the request for a <br />FIVE YEAR EXTENSION to their existing INTERIM USE PERMIT on 8 sites in <br />Roseville to allow parking and shuttle service during the two week Fair, subject to <br />conditions. The City Planner concurs with the Commission recommendation. <br />3.0 SUGGESTED CITY COUNCIL ACTION: <br />3.2 BY MOTION, APPROVE a FIVE YEAR EXTENSION to the existing MINESOT <br />ASTATE FAIR INTERIM USE PERMIT on 8 sites in Roseville to allow parking and <br />shuttle service during the two week Fair, subject to conditions (detailed recommendation <br />located in Section _of this report). <br />PF3768_RCA_072406.doc Page 1 of (� <br />
