WHEREAS, Craig Landkamer seeks to improve his property such that impervious
surfaces would cover 505 square feet more than the Code allows; and
WHEREAS, the City Planner has concluded that "hardships" are present and support can
be given to deviate from the strict requirements of the Roseville City Code if certain conditions
identified below are met;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Roseville Variance Board, to approve a
505 square foot VARIANCE to § 1004.01 A6 (Maximum Total Surface Area) and a 1 foot
VARIANCE to § 1004.016 (Minimum Side Yard Setback) of the Roseville City Code allowing
the construction of a new detached garage behind the residence, and the consequent widening of
the driveway, subject to the following conditions:
1. Impervious coverage on the parcel shall be limited to a total of 3,545 square feet.
2. The detached accessory structure (garage) shall be limited to a size not exceeding
864 square feet.
3. The proposed detached garage and widened driveway must not encroach within 3
feet of the side lot line.
4. The applicant shall submit (when application is made for building permit) a
detailed and scaled drawing (site plan) of the subject parcel showing all structures
and paved surfaces.
5. Measures must be instituted to restrict and control the rate of storm water runoff
leaving the property; these measures must be approved by the City Engineer.
6. The garden shed behind the residence must be removed from the site.
7. The variance shall expire within 12 months of its approval if a building permit is
not issued pursuant to § 1013.03 of the City Code.
The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Alternate
Variance Board Member Roe and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor:
Members Boerigter, Doherty, and Roe;
and none voted against;
WHEREUPON said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
P
