WHEREAS, Section 703.04B requires that driveways not exceed 26 feet in width at the
front lot line; and
WHEREAS, Ann Severson, trustee of the Ann Severson Living Trust, seeks to improve
her property such that the driveway would be 1.5 feet wider at the front property line than the
Code allows; and
WHEREAS, the City Planner has concluded that "hardships" are present and support can
be given to deviate from the strict requirements of the Roseville City Code if certain conditions
identified below are met;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Roseville Variance Board, to approve a
1.5-foot VARIANCE to §703.04B (Driveway Standards) and a 1.5-foot VARIANCE to
§ 1004.016 (Minimum Driveway Setback) of the Roseville City Code allowing the widening of
the driveway, subject to the following conditions:
1. The widened driveway must not exceed 27.5 feet in width at the front property
line.
2. The widened driveway must not be less than 3.5 feet from the side property line.
3. The widened driveway and parking area must be graded such that rain water will
not flow toward the adjacent property.
4. The variance shall expire within 6 months of its approval if a building permit is
not issued pursuant to § 1013.03 of the City Code.
The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Alternate
Variance Board Member Roe and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor:
Members Boerigter, Doherty, and Roe;
and none voted against;
WHEREUPON said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
