There are other factors why I am requesting the preferred dimensions of 24'X36'. To give you
and the committee a better picture of the situation; both my kitchen and front entry require stair cases to access the house; my
intention is to build a deck between the house and the garage that extends out past the front of both with one access to both
doors with one staircase. As I mentioned in our conversation; I have two sisters that have a condition called 'Ataxia' and they are
unfortunate to have to rely on the use of a wheel chair / walker. With the deck designed this way I will be able to place a temporary
ramp on the stairs when they visit for access to the house. In addition, because the height of the house doorway is considerably
higher than the garage surface a stair case going down into the garage will be required. The current the stair case that exists
between the garage and the house has been a safety concern. A 24' wide garage will allow the stair case to exist inside the
garage removing the danger of the staircase and still allow ample room to park two cars with room to walk around. This will also
allow room for a small ramp to be placed on the deck for access into the house when needed.
As far a moving the garage, I would prefer to move it forward in front of the house however I know that the code will not allow that
as well. I would like the garage to stay where it is for two reasons; first, because of landscaping plans, moving the garage deeper
into the property would hamper the future landscape design that will take place when the construction is complete. One of the
biggest appeals of the property at the time of purchase was the openness of the back yard and the fact that the garage did not
occupy that area. The second is the additional expense of the longer driveway if I have to move it back further. An attached
garage was originally considered however the alterations to the house to accommodate the attached garage put the project way
over budget.
Sorry for the delay I have had a very busy day; I hope this is sufficient, if not let me know.
David F Battisto
President
BridgeNet Technologies, LLC
Direct - 651.379.9333
Office - 651.221.0112
Fax - 651.221.0272
From: Bryan Lloyd [mailto:bryan.11oyd@ci.roseville.mn.us]
Sent: Monday, October 09, 2006 1:15 PM
To: david
Subject: setback permit hearing comments
Hi, David.
I've attached a PDF of the Dcvclopment Reviev Committce's coinments peYtaining to jour proposal--the original is in the
mail.
Let inc knov if ou ha-e any yucstions.
Bryan Lloyd
Associate City Planner
City of Roseville
651-792-7073
bryan.11oydnci.rse_y_ille.mn.us
10/10/2006
