Human Rights Commission Minutes <br />June 19, 2013 Draft Minutes <br />Page 5 of 6 <br />l8l Chair Grefenberg noted he was willing to �ar�e�-�e serve as liaison with those who had <br />182 volunteered to provide follow-up on the second Dialo�ue's four sets of proposals, adding that <br />183 °�rt'�'�^r'�^^a'�'^^'� ^�r*^;r� �'^rrt «,;+'� Megan Dushin and Corey Yunke had also volunteered. <br />184 He stated he would report back to the HRC at a future meeting. �T° ��*°a'�° and would move <br />185 forward with limited involvement from +�� other Commissioners in hopes �-of gaining <br />186 additional volunteers from the community. <br />187 <br />188 Chair Grefenberg stated he was interested in meeting with the Karen Community to discuss <br />189 program planning. He requested Commissioners Groff and Thao attend a future meeting with <br />190 this group. Commission Groff volunteered to attend this future meetin�. <br />191 <br />192 Chair Grefenberg recommended the youth commissioners meet this summer to discuss the <br />193 planning for fall youth programs and activities and report back to the Commission at a future <br />194 meeting. <br />195 <br />196 Commissioner Thao recommended the goals and objectives of the HRC be placed on a calendar <br />l97 to assist with achieving goals in a more timely manner throughout the year. Youth <br />198 Commissioner Siliciano �� suggested a shared Google calendar be an option. <br />199 <br />20o Chair's Report (Continued) <br />201 Appointment to Operations Committee: Grefenberg reported that he had asl{ed Wayne Groff <br />202 to serve on the Operations Carnmittee and he had accepted. <br />203 <br />204 July lOt'' Deadline for Applying for Commission Vacancy: Chair Grefenberg encouraged <br />205 HRC members to pursue interested individuals to apply for the Commission vacancy. He <br />206 explained that interested individuals could apply on the City's website and interviews would take <br />207 place on July 15. <br />208 <br />209 Report of the May 14t�' C�eatin� a Safe and Connected Communitv Small Groups: Chair <br />210 Grefenber� noted that this report was included in the Commissioners' meeting_packets for <br />211 information onlv. <br />212 <br />213 Lea�ue of Minnesota Human Ri�hts Commissions <br />214 Chair Grefenberg stated he would be attending the League of Minnesota Human Rights <br />215 Commissions Board meeting in'`��Red Win� ^� *�next�Saturday�€ <br />216 �be�. He asked if lus milea,�e would be covered, and Staff Liaison responded in the <br />217 affirmative. <br />218 <br />219 Staff Report <br />220 Reporting to the Bush Foundation on Current Community Dialogues Grant Monies: <br />221 Carolyn Curti �c� said she would be reporting to the Bush Foundation on how the grant <br />222 monies were spent on the two recent community dialogues. <br />223 <br />
