--.
^ !`
-
March 24, 2010
Twin City Chinese Christian Church
Attn: Ron Wong
1795 Eustis Street
Lauderdale, MN 55113
RE: T4C zoning text amendment applicadon extension
Dear Mr. Wong,
As you're aware, Roseville's City Council tabled its discussion of the application to amend the
Roseville City Code to allow churches in General Business (B-3) Districts in an effort to better
understand the relationship between the Comprehensive Plan and the Zoning Code and what
steps might need to be taken to properly act on the application.
Minnesota Statute 15.99 requires the City of Roseville to formally approve or deny your zoning
text amendment request within 60 days of the date of your application. I received the application
on February 5, 2010, which means that Roseville has until April 6, 2010 to take formal action.
Given that the City Council has outstanding questions, the Council may not be able to approve or
deny the proposed text amendment by the Apri16`h deadline.
To deal with a situation like this in which lingering issues need to be resolved, Minnesota Statute
^ 15.99 also allows the City one opporiunity to extend the time allowed for final action approving
or denying requests for an additional 60 days. Since the City Council may not be taking final
action on your requests within the original 60-day timeframe, the intent of this letter is to notify
you that the time limit for final action on the proposed zoning text amendment is being extended.
While Roseville now has until June 5, 2010 to finally approve or deny the application, the City
has no interest in the process lasting longer than it needs to, and we will make every reasonable
effort to achieve a resolution of the application as quickly as possible.
Please feel free call me at 651-792-7073 if you have any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
CITY OF ROSEVILLE
Bryan Lloyd
Associate Planner
.-
City of Roseville Community Development Department
2660 Civic Center Drive ❖ Roseville, Minnesota 55113
651-792-7005 s• www.ci.roseville.mn.us/development
