• There are no sensitive natural features in proximity to the proposed patio.
• The patio will use a flower bed to transition to the pool. This landscaping, along with the
stamped concrete, is designed to allow the patio to be aesthetically pleasing, improve the
character of the property, and to integrate seamlessly with the natural surroundings.
• The only neighbor will be able to see this patio is on our West, Dr. William and Sandy Brennom.
Dr. Brennom is a recently retired pediatric surgeon and his wife is a nurse, making them ideally
suited to understand and empathize with Noah's handicapped status. Most importantly, the
Brennom's have no objection to the patio and believe its addition will be an improvement in the
property. Finally, the Brennom's intend to contact the Roseville planning office to express their
support for this application and the proposed patio.
• The neighbor on our East, Betty Pomeroy, will not be able to see the patio due to the location of
her house in relation to our house and screen porch. However, she has no objections to the
patio.
• Per the support of our neighbor's affected by this request, we are requesting that the 10-day
appeal period be eliminated.
• The potential for the patio to cause storm water damage has been alleviated by the following
storm water mitigation plan.
Storm Water Mitiation Plan
Storm water will be diverted from the patio by the following means:
• A newly installed gutter system on the house will empty into a drain pipe which will carry water
to a drain system located in the flower bed in between the patio and pool.
• The drain system will collect water from the gutters and the patio and divert this water to the
street. Additionally, the flower bed will act as a rain garden.
• In order to accomplish this, the drain system consists of approximately 40 feet of graded 4 inch
solid PVC running E-W between the pool and patio. This connects to approximately 100 feet of
graded 4 inch solid PVC running N-S in between our house and the Brennom's which will carry
excess run-off water to the street storm sewer system.
Thank you very much for your expedient review of this request. We are desperately trying to complete
this patio so as to allow use of the pool by Noah during our extremely short Minnesota swimming
season.
If you have any questions or comments, please contact us at anytime at the contact information
provided above.
