Mapleview Park <br />Implementation Planning Session One <br />6 June 2013 <br />Page 2 <br /> <br />Exercise Three Park and playground specifics <br /> <br />As individuals focused on a park, participants were asked to share their thoughts about what <br />specific park and playground improvements would be desired: <br /> <br />Park improvements <br /> Local use all day <br /> Adult benches/swings <br /> Improved greenery <br /> More trash cans <br /> Signery for dogs <br /> Drainage <br /> Lighting facing park <br /> Youth programming <br /> Puppet wagon <br /> Portapotty <br /> Wheelchair accessible <br /> Weed control and treatment <br /> Handicap/stroller accessibility <br /> Improved parking options <br /> Change lighting—shine on park instead of neighbors yards <br /> Signage regarding city ordinance—dogs on leash, clean up after your pet <br /> Better weed control <br /> Better tree trimming <br /> Improved parking—ramp off Matilda for strollers/wheelchairs <br /> Lighting shining on the park instead of neighbors yards <br /> Safe playground equipment/handicap accessible <br /> Increased garbage receptacles <br /> Signage regarding city ordinance—dogs on leash, clean up after your pet <br /> Accessibility <br /> Parking <br /> Replace weeds with grass where rink is located (in winter) <br /> Replace fallen trees <br /> Pathways—to shelter/playground, to ballfield, could be cinder (inexpensive) <br />such as track at Middle School, really helps with strollers <br /> On northwest corner, show where to walk; appears to be private property <br /> Sign addressing leash rules for dogs—more dogs are let loose while owners <br />watch; dogs exit onto private property occasionally <br /> Even if nothing is done, still a nice park <br /> Some off street parking for little league or only one side parking <br /> For adults also—maybe horseshoe pits in sw corner <br /> Shelter improved—upgraded—same since 1960 <br /> Survey park boundaries <br />Playground improvements <br /> Safe equipment <br /> Water fountain
