<br />Resolution: Gun Safety Campaign <br />page two <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Smith & Wesson and Master Lock research found that 83% of gun owners are <br />concerned about the safety and security of their firearms when they are not in use; <br />and <br /> <br />RESOLVED, That the Board of Ramsey County Commissioners has received donations of <br />$5,500 to help defray the costs of purchasing gun locks and provide educational <br />materials to the public emphasizing the importance of Safe Gun Storage; and Be <br />It Further <br /> <br />RESOLVED, That the City Council of the City of Roseville supports the expansion of the Safe <br />Gun Storage Campaign services to include not only the City of St. Paul but also <br />these suburban Ramsey County cities that wish to join as partners; and Be It <br />Further <br /> <br />RESOLVED, That the City of Roseville has the opportunity to partner with the Ramsey County <br />Manager's Office and the Saint Paul/Ramsey County Department of Public Health <br />to expand the Safe Gun Storage Campaign; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Roseville City Council authorize the City of <br />Roseville Police Department to partner with the Ramsey County Manager's Office <br />and the Saint Paul/Ramsey County Department of Public Health to build and to <br />develop a publicity campaign to expand the Safe Gun Storage Campaign <br />throughout the community of Roseville. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Member Goedeke <br />and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: and the following voted <br />against the same: <br /> <br />WHEREUPON said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. <br />
