Department Approval <br />�. �: � <br />�: <br />Item Description <br />BACKGROUND <br />1��� <br />J�. <br />REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />Date: 10/14/2013 <br />Item No.: 7.f <br />City Manager Approval <br />�°�.... ,� �- <br />� <br />Approve an Amendment to the Lease Agreement with Sprint Wireless for <br />Additional Space on the Civic Center Campus South Tower <br />On September 15, 2003 the City of Roseville and Sprint Wireless entered into a lease agreement to allow <br />for the installation of wireless communications equipment on the Civic Center Campus South Tower and <br />surrounding ground space. <br />Sprint would like to amend the agreement to allow for additional space on the tower to accommodate <br />additional equipment. The equipment does not require any additional ground space. Using a formula based <br />on Sprint's current leased space and rent amount, Sprint has agreed to pay an additional $400 per month to <br />be increased by 3% each year. <br />The proposed changes do not require any additional zoning or other administrative review. City Staff and <br />the City Attorney have approved the language in the attached lease amendment, and it has been signed by <br />Sprint representatives. <br />City Staff will be present at the Meeting to address any questions. <br />POLICY OBJECTIVE <br />Not applicable. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACTS <br />The City would receive an additional $400 annually (adjusted for inflation) under the lease amendment. <br />These monies will help offset costs associated with the City's Information Technology function. <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends approval of the lease amendment. <br />REQUESTED COUNCIL ACTION <br />Motion to approve a lease amendment with Sprint Wireless for additional space on the Civic Center <br />Campus South Tower. <br />Prepared by: Chris Miller, Finance Director <br />Attachments: A: Lease Amendment with Sprint Wireless <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />
