Attachment A <br />CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br />JOB DESCRIPTION <br />Job Description Title: Computer Support <br />Specialist <br />FLSA Status: Non - Exempt /Non Union <br />Department/Division: Finance <br />Position Status: Regular Full -Time <br />Accountable To: IT Manager <br />Salary Grade: Non - Exempt Level <br />Prepared By: Employers Association, Inc. <br />Revision Date: December 6, 2005 <br />Job Summary: <br />Provides computer application support to city employees, and the employees of contract <br />organizations. Assists in maintaining network server applications, phone and voice mail systems. <br />Scope of Responsibility: <br />The Desktop Support Specialist supports the city -wide information system network to ensure all <br />functions conducted in an effective, efficient and timely manner. <br />Essential Duties and Responsibilities: <br />1. Responds to telephone calls, email and personnel requests for technical support. <br />2. Identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems related the all information systems. <br />3. Performs system backups and recovery. <br />4. Maintains anti -virus software system and applies appropriate updates. <br />5. Installs new software releases, system upgrades, evaluates and installs patches and resolves <br />software related problems. <br />6. Maintains voice mailboxes and assists city employees with voice mail related issues. <br />7. Performs other duties as apparent or assigned. <br />Minimum Qualifications: <br />2 -year Associate's degree, 4 -year bachelor's degree preferred. 2 -3 years' work experience in a <br />professional capacity supporting computer end users. A+ Certification (CompTIA). Key <br />characteristics include thorough knowledge of the Microsoft Office Professional software <br />application suite, and working knowledge of network operating systems; Windows NT Server, <br />and Windows 2000/2003 Active Directory. Preference given for Microsoft MCSE certified <br />applicants. <br />Must have a valid Class D driver's license as the use of a personal vehicle is required. Mileage <br />expense reimbursement will be based on the City's personal vehicle use policy. <br />Physical Demands &Working Conditions: <br />Most work is in an office environment, with extensive use of computers and peripheral <br />equipment. Limited lifting of forty pounds or less is required. <br />The Desktop Support Specialist must exercise discretion and judgment and is responsible for <br />
