Regular City Council Meeting <br /> Monday, October 14, 2013 <br /> Page 22 <br /> At the request of Councilmember Willmus, Mr. Brownsell advised that the C city <br /> should not have any interruption of service if a truck is out for repair, as there <br /> were several other trucks available as backups within their fleet to meet that ca- <br /> pacity, even with two trucks dedicated to Roseville. <br /> McGehee moved, Willmus seconded, approval of a three-(3) year "Agreement for <br /> Comprehensive Recycling Services" between the City of Roseville and Neigh- <br /> borhood Recycling Corporation, d/b/a Eureka Recycling as presented (Attach- <br /> ment A); with a cart roll-out in February of 2014, and pricing effective January 1, <br /> 2013; under Option 1, and amendments to the agreement as follows: <br /> Lines 208—209 (strike "...or without..."); <br /> Lines 214-217(strike entire sentence as highlighted in the draft); and <br /> Lines 59—82 (strike Options 2 and 3 in their entirety). <br /> While expressing her disappointment that things could not start earlier, Coun- <br /> cilmember McGehee recognized staff for their excellent job in negotiating the <br /> contract; and also expressed her appreciation to Eureka Recycling for their eco- <br /> nomic concerns in not wasting cart capacity. <br /> Roll Call <br /> Ayes: Willmus; Laliberte; McGehee; and Roe. <br /> Nays: None. <br /> 14. Business Items—Presentations/Discussions <br /> a. Receive Update on June 21 Storm Recovery Efforts <br /> Fire Department Battalion Chiefs Dave Brosnahan and Greg Peterson provided a <br /> brief video presentation of the storm recovery efforts; and were joined by Parks & <br /> Recreation Director Lonnie Brokke and Public Works Director Duane Schwartz <br /> who participated in the oral presentation. <br /> Chief Peterson recognized the huge response from staff throughout the night of <br /> the storm and following days; with significant call volumes to the Police and Fire <br /> Departments, with the Police Department fielding 120 calls in the first three hours <br /> of the storm. Chief Peterson expressed thanks that there were not too many sig- <br /> nificant or life-threatening calls during that time; opining that the City had been <br /> fortunate to dodge some of those bullets without having to also address such ma- <br /> jor emergencies during that same time period. <br /> Mr. Schwartz reviewed the positives found throughout the process, providing a <br /> good response and recovery effort made better than past situations and not having <br /> that early-on damage assessment and a defined course of action available to the <br /> City.
