Holt,Stoner, Wall <br />ABSENT: <br />6Azer, Boehm,and Simbecknotified staff ahead of time about beingunable to attend <br />STAFF: <br />7Anfang,Brokke, Evenson <br />8 <br />9 <br />INTRODUCTIONS <br />101. <br />11 <br />ROLL CALL/PUBLIC COMMENT <br />122. <br />13No Public Comment <br />14 <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES –SEPTEMBER 7,2013MEETING <br />153. <br />Commission Recommendation: <br />16 <br />17Minutes for the September 7, 2013meeting were approved unanimously. <br />18 <br />PARK & RECREATION RENEWAL PROGRAM <br />194. <br />Lexington Park Building <br />20 <br />o <br />21i.The preliminary Lexington Park building plans were included in the Commission <br />22packet. Also included were architect responses to recent Council questions addressing <br />23building systemsand exterior surfaces. <br />24ii.A contractor pre-proposal meeting was held on September 19. Twenty five building <br />25professional attended. Discussions involvedan overview of the Best Value System <br />26along with project timing. <br />27iii.The City Council has authorized the development of the Lexington Park building <br />28plans and specifications basedon the 5-week project delivery. The actual project <br />29construction will be included in the larger package scheduled for spring 2014. <br />30iv.The contractor(s) selection will take place following the 18 week delivery of the plans <br />31and specificationsfor the entire Renewal Program. <br />321.Anticipated time frame: <br />33a.Completion of RFP(s) = November/December 2013 <br />34b.RFP(s) posted/promoted = January 2014 <br />35c.Best Value Process for Contractor(s)selection= January/February <br />362014 <br />37v.Evenson reviewed the building plans, walking and talking through the preliminary <br />38site plans, imagesand prospective site views. <br />39vi.The 90% plan will be ready for review on October 10. <br />40 <br />41Commissioners inquired into building aesthetics, the Council questions, maintenance <br />42considerations and the design vision. <br />43Staff clarified responses to the Council questions regarding potential roofing <br />o <br />44materials, the possibility of in floorheating and other design and system <br />45related items. <br />46Brokke reminded the Commission of the $500,000 budget for the project and <br />o <br />47the need to create a facility that has functional spaces and then work with add- <br />48alternates. <br />49Following the discussion, the Commission affirmed direction. <br />50 <br />51 <br />Natural Resources & Trails Projects <br />52 <br />o <br /> <br />
