Human Rights Commission Minutes <br />January 15, 2014 — Draft Minutes <br />Page 4 of 4 <br />137 Resident Letter Regarding Roseville Theater Incident: Commissioner Grefenberg indicated <br />13s he would like the Commission to r°T,;°T=, *'�°'°**°r *'�°� r°�°;��°a a°+�;';N� address -a� the issues <br />139 raised in a recent letter to the Commission concerning an incident at a�� local movie <br />14o theater between a Roseville police officer and a resident. He indicated that he could appreciate <br />141 that the Police and Administration Departments would need some time *'�� �'������;�� T�,�� <br />142 ^�*�N� � r*'�° D�';�° T'°r�r*m°N* �Na n am;N;�*r�*;�N T'°r�r*m°N+ to investigate, but thought it <br />143 might be T���apbropriate-for the commission to provide �ra e�forum-for the <br />144 �N� resident to address the commission if � so desired. <br />145 <br />146 Chair Groff indicated he �had discussed this item with the Citv Mana�er and�the <br />147 Commission would be receivi�a report from Administration as to the status. The <br />14s Chair � concluded � that he understood the Ciry Manager was going to contact him when <br />149 that repOlt was complete. Staff inember Collins indicated she would look into the <br />15o status of the report. <br />151 <br />152 <br />153 <br />154 <br />155 <br />156 <br />Future Agenda Items <br />No other future agenda items were *�'�� a��������a raised. <br />157 Announcements <br />158 Commissioner Grefenberg indicated that � the pro�ram planners are expecting commissioners <br />159 to act as note takers at the forum on immigrant experiences to follow after the meeting. <br />16o Commissioner Courneya recommended that if residents volunteer to be note takers that we allow <br />161 them in an effort to assist in any language barriers that may be present. Commissioner Courneya <br />162 indicated that this might help set the tone that the Commission was not there to guide the <br />163 discussion but to hear and learn what is going on. Commissioner Grefenberg ���added <br />164 there would be two tables of Karen residents that would have translators and encouraged people <br />165 to join these tables for the discussion. <br />1�� <br />167 <br />168 <br />1�9 <br />170 <br />Adjournment <br />Commissioner Singleton made motion to adjourn, Seconded by Vice Chair Becker. Motion <br />passed unanimously. Meeting adjourned at 6:49 p.m. <br />
