3. The impact of no parking on the south side of the County Road : There are some residents who will lose parking on their side of the street, the south side of County Road B. Parking on the north side of County Road B and parking on a cross street were discussed as options for these homeowners. However, for at least one south-side home owner, these options will be not be feasible. We discussed the option of allowing parking on the trail in front of these southern houses, but this may not be ideal as it will force trail users to go into the road for this section of the trail. We spent a lot of effort to involve our neighbors in a collaborative process with Public Works, including going door-to-door in subzero weather and holding a neighborhood meeting in December and documenting its conclusions for the Department's consideration. So we wanted you to have the benefit of our final recommendation now attached. We appreciate the opportunity you afforded us to participate in this process. You heard our concerns and directed staff to meet with us. During this process Public Works Director Duane Schwartz was continually cooperative and accessible, and opened his meeting with the neighborhood by reviewing the concern and issues raised by SWARR at its December meeting. We look forward to continuing to collaborate with the Public Works Department on this project.
