Motion passed unanimously. <br />139 <br />14o Planning of Reception and Council Presentation on March 10: Commissioner Grefenberg <br />141 expressed ���� disa�ointment that only one Councilmember attended the reception last <br />142 year since the Citv Hall was the selected venue so as to facilitate their attendance. He suggested <br />143 that a different location be selected for the event, other than the basement of City Hall. <br />144 <br />145 Vice Chair Becker recalled that two Councilmembers were in attendance last year and suggested <br />146 the reception remain at City Hall to keep the event simple for the award-winning families <br />147 attending. <br />148 <br />149 Commissioner Grefenberg suggested the Fireside Room or the Rose Room TT,;*'�;� �';*�, u^" at <br />15o the Skating Center be chosen for the event. He questioned if the City's reception e�e��for the <br />151 winnin� essavists-should be delayed until the statewide awards were selected by the MN League <br />152 of Cities. He ��e� asked when spring break would be held for the Roseville School <br />153 District in March. <br />154 <br />155 <br />156 <br />157 <br />158 <br />159 <br />Youth Commissioner Sarah Thomas indicated school would be out the week of March 17�' <br />Commissioner Grefenberg was in favor of delaying the reception �after March �4� 10�' to <br />allow for additional time to organize and plan the event. <br />16o Commissioner Courneya supported the event being delayed � bevond the 24�' of March. She <br />161 recommended the event remain at City Hall and that it be held prior to the Council meeting for <br />162 the convenience of the families and Councilmembers attending. <br />163 <br />164 Chair Groff questioned if the reception should �include a fixed program. <br />165 <br />166 Commissioner Grefenberg recommended a short and informal program be €e�e�e� incor�orated <br />167 into the reception to ensure that the families of essay winners and Councilmembers in attendance <br />16g are acknowledged. <br />169 <br />17o Commissioner Courneya volunteered to assist staff in planning the reception. In res�onse to <br />171 Cormnissioner Grefenber '� s ur �i�n�, she a�reed to up�rade last vear's menn. <br />172 <br />173 Human Rights Commission Participation in the MN League of Human Rights <br />174 Commissions: Chair Groff explained the Roseville HRC was seeking a volunteer to attend the <br />175 MN League of Human Rights Commissions Annual Meeting and to serve on its Board of <br />176 Directors this vear. He asked when �-g�e� the League would meet �rand select its Board. <br />177 <br />17s Commissioner Grefenberg reported the g�e� Lea�uue's Annual Meeting would ��ee�ga�rrbe on <br />179 Saturday, February 22, 2014 at the Brooklyn Park City Hall in the Council Chambers at 11:00 <br />18o a.m. (Editorial Note: the meeting was eventually held at the Richfield City Hall.) He <br />181 recommended the C� HRC continue its membership for one vear. <br />
