Motion passed unanimously. <br />Program Planning Committee <br />278 Feedback on Januarv 15th Community ' Conversation on a Welcomin� <br />279 Roseville: �'^������^�°r Committee Chair Grefenberg provided a report on the community <br />2go dialogue that was held on January 15, 2014. He explained the dialogue ��--��� was focused <br />281 on beina an outreach e�� effort €e�to recent immigrants. He was pleased with their <br />2g2 participation level and noted this could be due in part to the level of personal contact with <br />283 minority groups and the story in the Minnesota Star Tribune before ^�'��°���°�°r+ �^r the event. <br />284 <br />2g5 Grefenber� said it was his opinion that the HRC needed to emphasize event promotion and allow <br />286 time to s�read communitv awareness before it did anv major future �ro.ra�ms. <br />287 <br />2gg Commissioner Courneya was pleased with the level of participation as well, noting a lot of great <br />2g9 ideas were shared by the members present. She suggested that the HRC have a standing column <br />290 in the Roseville Review on a quarterly basis. He recommended this be discussed in further detail at the March HRC meeting. <br />Vice Chair Becker suggested the first article summarize the April naturalization ceremony. <br />301 April Citizenship Ceremony: Commissioner Courneya reported � that Deb Bell, a staff inember <br />302 for the local €�e� US Federal Court� District, would be �� tourina on Fridav the Roseville <br />303 Skating Center �the venue of the HRGhosted Naturalization Ceremonv and Rece�tion. <br />304 She reported the event would be staffed by US Court representatives. There was a great deal of <br />305 enthusiasm around the event. She explained citv staff member Carolyn Curti was planning to <br />306 have an article in �e City News, the citv bi-monthly newsletter, regarding the event. She stated <br />307 the MN League of Women's Voters �could have a table at the naturalization ceremony. <br />3og <br />309 Commissioner Grefenberg suggested the Council and Mayor be invited to attend this event. <br />310 Commissioner Courneva said that that could be done, mentionin� that school board members and <br />311 state rebresentatives had attended last month's Communitv Conversation.
