Councilmember McGehee opined that Item 8 made the <br /> document inconsistent; however, she expressed her willingness to yield to the <br /> City Attorney on that point, even though she did not think it served the City well <br /> financially, but simply was put there because people didn't have the capacity to <br /> do the job needing to be done, and was not a good plan. <br /> In order to make the record clear, City Attorney Gaughan stressed the importance <br /> of not having a contract with a definite term; and based on the definition of"at <br /> will" employment, the clause had no durational bearing at all. <br /> Councilmember McGehee moved to remove Section 7 from the contract. <br /> Mayor Roe declared the motion failed for lack of a second. <br /> Willmus moved, Etten seconded, a motion to remove Patrick Trudgeon from the <br /> position of Interim City Manager. <br /> Roll Call <br /> Ayes: Willmus; Laliberte; Etten; McGehee; and Roe. <br /> Nays: None. <br /> Etten moved, Willmus seconded, a motion to appoint Finance Director Chris Mil- <br /> ler as Acting City Manager for the sole purpose of executing a City Manager <br /> Agreement, as attached in Exhibit A. <br /> Roll Call <br /> Ayes: Willmus; Laliberte; Etten; McGehee; and Roe. <br /> Nays: None. <br /> Willmus moved, Etten seconded, a motion to approve the appointment of Mr. Pat- <br /> rick Trudgeon as City Manager for the City of Roseville; and authorize the mayor <br /> and Acting City Manager to execute a City Manager Agreement on behalf of the <br /> City as attached in Exhibit A as presented. <br /> Roll Call <br /> Ayes: Willmus; Laliberte; Etten; McGehee; and Roe. <br /> Nays: None. <br /> City Manager Trudgeon thanked each Councilmember for their support over the <br /> last eight months of his interim service and for their mentoring; and expressed his <br /> interest in continuing to work together. Even though there were five different <br /> opinions on the City Council, Mr. Trudgeon expressed his assurances that they <br /> had been, and would continue to work well together and effectively.
