It needs to move to the City Center <br />The site can then be redeveloped. <br />County Road B/Lexington is another site in the City available for redevelopment.- Public <br />Safety Building, park? <br />There probably is enough ball diamonds and ice rinks. <br />This project will probably go to referendum. <br />If the community goes ahead with the City Center what happens in the next 20 years? <br />NIMBYISM and Financing will be key issues. <br /> <br />Population over 55, conservative community. <br />Roseville has never had school bond issue fail. <br />The task force needs to take pulse of community. The results of Decision Resources' <br />survey provides a good first step in the process. <br /> <br />The City Center could be the location for centralized bus service for the community with <br />the potential for a RoseviIle Park n' Ride. <br /> <br />Roseville needs a "Lasting Piece". Create a planning & design framework for the City <br />Center that can be implemented over time. <br /> <br />What can and cannot happen? <br />What are the constraints? <br />How much stuff can we fit? <br /> <br />Density and building height will be issues. <br />Rosedale Center is the tallest building in Roseville and it is nine stories. <br /> <br />A City Center "Campus" is not the model. The Civic Complex is an 8:00 - 5:00 place. <br />A City Center needs to have: <br />1. 24-hour interest - self policing <br />2. Attract as much private investment as possible <br /> <br />The Recreation component needs to cater to both tuxedo and sweat socks crowds. <br />The John Rose Oval is self-sustaining, international venue. <br /> <br />City Center should be: <br />First Class. <br />Quality materials, quality maintenance. <br />The most uses and amenities for the least public money. <br />Fun to come to. <br />
