<br />One of the products of the Vista 2000 process is the new housing development on the <br />school land to the south of Lake Owasso. This is a quality development that the City can <br />use as a model for future public redevelopment projects. <br /> <br />The other focus of Vista 2000 was on creating a greater diversity of housing in Roseville. <br />As a result the City has new low income housing that is working welL <br /> <br />Roseville has a real sense of "neighborhood". <br />Many neighborhoods in the City have block parties. <br /> <br />Central Park has been a great asset for the community. <br /> <br />Roseville residents use Shoreview and Fairview community centers <br />Physical fitness is part of the community. <br />Roseville is about families. <br /> <br />It is difficult to define specific neighborhoods in Roseville. Probably the clearest since of <br />neighborhood is defined by the street you live on. This is reinforced by the block parties. <br />Can you <br /> <br />The business community is also an important part ofRoseville. The businesses are not <br />well connected to community. <br />The Suburban Chamber of Commerce, which started in RoseviHe, represents business. <br />Their focus is primarily on business retention I new business development. Many business <br />people visit Central Park at lunch. A fitness center might cater to the business community. <br /> <br />Roseville has provided a lot of new housing, especially housing products other than single <br />family detached (i.e. townhomes) <br /> <br />There is a need for more senior housing, especially one level homes. <br />Potential for "continuum of care" housing. <br />Some existing senior housing - Center Point <br /> <br />The City also needs to focus on getting new families moving to RoseviUe. <br />There is a concern amongst existing residents about the maintenance of senior residents <br />property . <br /> <br />RoseviUe is a collection of post war homes. <br />It is stable and attractive in general, but some area are "going to seed". <br />Young families leave when children reach school age. <br />Schools may become a real issue? The latest round of testing showed lower than average <br />test scores. <br />
