Your property is in or near the Task Force Study area. The shady area
limits were chosen so that impacts of the City Center could be readily understood (see
attached map).

The 13-member City Center Task Force was appointed by the Roseville City Council in
August of 1998. The Task Force is composed of 13 citizen members. The study will take at
least nine months and is supposed to be completed by mid-July, 1999. The consultant is
Kim Way, a nationally recognized city center designer with the firm Ellerbe-Becket.
Roseville's Community Development Director, Dennis Welsch (490-2232) is the City staff
coordinator for the project.

The purpose of the City Center Study is to be visionary - to determine what the needs of
the City may be in the study area for the next 25 years. The Study was recommended by
the Planning Commission in the Comprehensive Plan in 1994. The center of the study area
is the corner of Lexington Avenue and County Road "C". As Kim Way said at the October
81h organization meeting, the strength of the area is Central Park, the Civic Center and the
existing scale of buildings in the area. The challenge is to make the City Center more
accessible by cable, pathway, sidewalk and street system and to create a mix of uses that
interest all age groups within the community.

One of the upcoming activities of Kim Way and the Task Force is to interview interest
groups in the community including one meeting specifically designed for property owners
in or near the Study area.

The second meeting of the City Center Task Force is scheduled for Thursday, October 22,
1998 beginning at 6:30 p.m., in the City Hall. The meeting is open to the public. This
meeting and future meetings will be telecast on Cable Channel 16.

If there are questions, feel free to contact Dennis Welsch at 490-2232. This Newsletter will
be sent to you each month prior to the City Center Task Force meeting.

Attachments:
1. Agenda for October 22 meeting
2. Map of study area
3.
