<br />.. <br /> <br />CITY CENTER TASK FORCE NOTES <br />TOUR <br />Saturday, November 7,1998 <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />Present: <br /> <br />Kim Way, Bob Bierscheid, Craig Klausing, Scott Bergs, Perrie Heitler, <br />Dick Bates, Ann Hermes, Jan VanderWall, Don Anderson, Peggy Egli, <br />Lois Lindquist, Keith Wietecki, Joe Smith, Dennis Welsch, Chuck Stifter, <br />Jerry Beck <br /> <br />2. The Task Force asked to review sites; begin to define what "City Center" means to <br />Roseville; look at options, with time to discuss results at November 19th meeting. <br /> <br />3. Brooklyn Park - Government related facility. <br />Costs: split between armory and City Complex. Collection of buildings in campus setting <br />must drive between facilities; no pedestrian tie; no master plan, but add-on-facility. <br /> <br />4. Maple Grove - Community Center and Downtown. <br />Collaboration between City and Opus. The recreation partner is Northwest Racquet and <br />Fitness Center. (see attached handouts) Well though out for long term mix of uses. As <br />part of overall development, there is lots of retail and supportive parking. <br />Public-private partnership help needed to support the civic functions on the site, The <br />development agreement should be discussed. <br /> <br />5. Plymouth - Public and Private Joint Project <br />Lifetime fitness + City + open skating <br />Lifetime prefers busy site. The City has found the arrangement to be economical/feasible. <br />The site does not include a senior center or community meeting space. Parking is <br />limited. A copy of the development agreement was supplied. <br /> <br />6. Chaska Public financed Center, adjacent to High School. <br />Golf simulator, arts center, health center; hockey, theatre, pool, two hockey rinks. Not <br />enough parking. <br /> <br />7. Chaska - Downtown <br />Image of downtown with uniformity of design/materials. <br />Extend infrastructure beyond City Center to edges of neighborhoods. <br />Bring buildings to street. <br />Expand sidewalks, lighting, trees. <br /> <br />8.
