Owasso Blvd. <br /> <br />On May 29, 1990, the City Council approved a shoreline permit for <br />Ralph Wheaton at 393 S. Owasso Blvd. The permit was to allow the <br />removal of the existing dwelling and the construction of a new <br />dwelling on the lot in question. The proposed dwelling met all <br />setback requirements including the 75 foot shoreline setback. A <br />building permit has been obtained and some excavation work has begun <br />on the site. The property owner is now requesting an additional <br />shoreline permit and variance to the 75 foot setback requirement to <br />allow for the construction of a 12X34 foot deck onto the rear of the <br />house. The deck would have a setback of 65 feet instead of the <br />required 75 feet from the lake. The property owner has provided <br />letters from the two adjacent property owners concerning their <br />opinion on this variance request. <br /> <br />Staff has reviewed the request and is of the opinion that although a <br />permit has been issued for the proposed dwelling, the dwelling could <br />be redesigned to have a deck which meets the 75 foot setback <br />requirement. The visual impact of the deck on the lake would be <br />minimal. <br /> <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED: Motion to approve/deny Ralph Wheaton's <br />request for a shoreline permit and <br />variance at 393 S. Owasso Blvd. <br />
