Most of the <br />amusement centers not only had dance floors and pool tables, but <br />were much bigger as well. Theisen stated that the security plan <br />came from the mall manager. <br /> <br />Page 2 <br /> <br />Johnson questioned whether the security plan was Welsh Companies' <br />or the Theisenls. Theisen stated that it was Welsh companies' <br />plan. <br /> <br />Wietecki questioned whether there were more police calls to malls <br />wi th arcades as compared to malls without arcades. Theisen <br />replied that he did not know. Theisen stated that there will <br />always be some police calls at malls. Theisen stated that the <br />Amusement Center will be a safe place for kids to go. <br /> <br />Goedeke questioned whether 1 person supervising will be adequate. <br />Theisen stated that machines run on tokens, and that there would <br />be change machines. Theisen wouldn't hesitate to hire extra help <br />on Friday or Saturday if the traffic warranted it. Theisen <br />stated that the amusement center at the Har Mar Mall is two to <br />three time larger, has a pool table and has only one attendant. <br /> <br />Goedeke stated that an overflow crowd might sp.ill out into the <br />mall, posing more security problems. Theisen said that if the <br />business is that good he'll work to accommodate it. Theisen <br />added that the market is soft for arcades and that this place <br />won't be jammed. <br /> <br />Goedeke pointed out that the neighbors were concerned about <br />rowdyism in the parking lot. Theisen stated that he understands <br />and appreciates their concerns. Roberts questioned whether <br />Theisen uses security guards at any of his other arcades. <br />Theisen stated that he uses bouncers at the larger centers and is <br />charged for a shared security guard in Grand Rapids. <br /> <br />Roberts questioned how Theisen addressed parking lot problem in <br />st. Cloud. Theisen stated that it was caused by people smoking <br />in the parking lot and now the lot is watched more carefully. <br /> <br />A neighbor, George Lindgren, questioned whether the arcade would <br />give away prizes. Theisen stated that some games give out <br />tickets that can be collected and redeemed for prizes. <br /> <br />A neighbor, Mike Pederson, was concerned about the traffic. He <br />stated that the arcade was 8/10 of a mile from the high school. <br /> <br />Mr. Lindgren stated that kids climb over the 8 foot and 12 foot <br />fence to go through his yard. Lindgren was opposed because it <br />would only cause more traffic of this type. <br />
