Human Rights Commission <br />Meeting Minutes <br />March 28, 2014 <br />Commissioners: Vice Chair Scot Becker, Jill Brisbois, Gary Grefenberg (arrived at 6:04 <br />p.m.), Chair Wayne Groff, and David Singleton <br />Youth Commissioners: <br />Commissioners Absent: Michele Courneya, Kaying Thao, and Youth Commissioners Joan <br />Dao, Sungmoon Lim, and Sarah Thomas <br />Staff Present: Kari Collins <br />Call to Order <br />The Human Rights Commission (HRC) meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. Chair Wayne <br />Groff requested staff call the roll. <br />Approve Agenda <br />Commissioner Jill Brisbois moved and Vice Chair Scot Becker seconded a motion to approve the <br />agenda as distributed. Motion passed unanimously. <br />Approve Minutes <br />Commissioner David Singleton moved and Commissioner Brisbois seconded a motion to <br />approve the February 19, 2014 meeting minutes as amended. Motion passed unanimously. <br />Public Comment <br />There being no one present wishing to speak to the Commission on an item not on the agenda, <br />the chair moved to the next agenda item. <br />Old Business <br />2014 Essay Contest <br />• Current Status of Announcement of Winners <br />• April7th Essay Contest Reception and Presentation to Council <br />Ms. Collins explained letters were sent to the essay winners inviting them to attend the April7th <br />Reception. She commented six out of nine were planning to attend, along with the principal of <br />the school. <br />
