Bruce Anderson is requesting that the small piece of the <br />unused Aldine street right-of-way lying south of Oakcrest <br />Avenue and dead ending into the Crossroads Shopping Center <br />property be vacated. Mr. Anderson owns property on both <br />sides of the street. <br /> <br />2. Mr. Anderson is also proposing to replat the lots on either <br />side of the street and the vacated right-of-way if approved <br />to provide an additional single family lot to be developed in <br />the area. <br /> <br />3. The Roseville Planning Commission unanimously recommended <br />that the ci ty Council approve Bruce Anderson I s request for <br />vacation of right-of-way and preliminary plat approval at <br />1694, 1700, and 1708 Oakcrest Avenue. <br /> <br />4. The City council, on september 28, 1992, continued the public <br />hearing on this matter until October 26, 1992 to allow <br />further discussion on whether or not a pathway on the Aldine <br />Street right-of-way should be maintained to provide access <br />from the neighborhood to the shopping centers to the south at <br />the October 19, 1992 Work Session. <br /> <br />5. This matter was discussed at the October 19, 1992 Work <br />session and it was the general concensus of the Council to <br />move forward with the vacation of Aldine Street and the <br />preliminary and final plat as requested by Mr. Anderson. In <br />addition, it was the general concensus not to open any of <br />the fenced areas adjacent to either of the shopping centers. <br /> <br />city Attornev Comments <br /> <br />1. This item does not need any legal interpretation at this <br />time. This request is within the legal authority of the City <br />to grant or deny. <br />
