<br />Proposed Sign Ordinance <br /> <br />9/21/92 <br /> <br />Page 9 <br /> <br />14.195. <br /> <br />Contractor Sians. <br /> <br />Contractor signs shall be confined to the site of construction, <br />alteration, or repair and shall be constructed of high quality <br />material maintained in good repair. No more than one sign is <br />pe~itted on each street frontage the project abuts. The sign <br />shall be removed within 180 days of the the date of the issuance of <br />a building pe~it for the work. A Special Use Pe~it is required <br />for a contractor sign to remain in place longer than allowed by <br />this section. <br /> <br />Xn R-l and R-2 Districts, contractor signs may not exceed 10 square <br />feet in area or six feet in height and shall be placed within the <br />property line or construction fence. In all other Districts, <br />buildings 100,000 square feet in size and less are allowed one sign <br />not to exceed 48 square feet; buildings larger than 100,000 square <br />feet and less than 250,000 square feet in size are allowed one sign <br />not to exceed 60 square feet; and buildings over 250,000 square <br />feet are allowed one sign not to exceed 80 square feet is size. <br /> <br />Residence District Sians <br /> <br />14.200. <br /> <br />Sian Regulations in Residence Districts. <br /> <br />The following signs are permitted in Residence Districts: <br /> <br />1. Exclusive of house numbers, one nameplate sign for each <br />single family or duplex dwelling unit which shall not exceed <br />3 square feet in area per surface, and no sign shall be so <br />constructed as to have more than two (2) display surfaces <br />and may be within 10 feet of a street right-of-way line. <br />Permitted home occupations may have a business sign not to <br />exceed 3 square feet and shall not be illuminated. <br /> <br />2. Exclusive of house numbers, one nameplate sign for each <br />dwelling group of six (6) to twelve (12) units which shall <br />not exceed six (6) square feet in area per surface. One (1) <br />nameplate sign for each dwelling group of twelve (12) to <br />twenty-four (24) units which shall not exceed twenty-four <br />(24) square feet in area per surface. One nameplate sign <br />for each dwelling unit group above twenty-four (24) units, <br />which shall not exceed one (1) square foot per unit in the <br />dwelling group to a maximum of one hundred (100) square feet <br />in area per surface. Such nameplate signs may be attached to <br />the wall of a building or may be in free standing. In no <br />case shall more than one sign be allowed for each dwelling <br />group. All such signs shall conform to setback requirements <br />of the Code. No sign shall be constructed so as to have <br />more than two (2) display surfaces. Said signs may indicate <br />
