The City previously granted a variance for fence height for <br />the Midway Ford use at 2775 Snelling Avenue North with the <br />condition that the fence not be constructed in the area <br />immediately between the building and Snelling Avenue. <br /> <br />2. The City has vacated the frontage road and the applicant is <br />requesting a variance to allow the fence to be moved to the <br />new east property line and to be continuous. The fence would <br />be in the area immediately between the building and Snelling <br />Avenue. <br /> <br />3. The Planning Commission unanimously recommended approval of <br />Gary Vogel's request for fence height variance at 2775 <br />Snelling Avenue North with the condition that the fence be a <br />cyclone fence or similar material and that it not exceed 7 <br />feet in height. <br /> <br />Alternatives: <br /> <br />1. Deny the variance based on the finding that no hardship or <br />practical difficulty exists. <br /> <br />2. Approve the variance based on the finding that there is a <br />hardship or practical difficulty present on the site. <br /> <br />Polity Obiectives: <br /> <br />1. To ensure that development occurs consistent with the City's <br />zoning ordinance. <br /> <br />2. Grant variances where hardships or practical difficulties, <br />are present on the site. <br /> <br />staff Recommendation: <br /> <br />1. It is recommended that the city Council approve Gary Vogel's <br />request for fence height variance at 2775 Snelling Avenue <br />North with the condition that the fence be a cyclone fence or <br />
