Department Approval: Manager Reviewed: Agenda section: ~ ~d- Hearings Item Description: Computer ci ty /Beechwood Acquisi tions request for special use permit for site plan approval which includes a variance to setback standards at Snelling Avenue and County Road B-2. Backaround: 1. An undeveloped triangular parcel exists in front of the Roseville Crossroads Center which has been owned by Equitable. This parcel formerly served as a storm water holding pond for the Rosedale Center. 2. When the Pavilion Place Shopping Center was expanded into the Roseville Crossroads Center, the holding pond was removed and the parcel is available for development. 3. Beechwood Acquisitions is acquiring this parcel for development of a Computer City store on the parcel. Computer City is requesting a special use permit for site plan approval in accordance with City ordinance requirements. This request includes a variance to the 100 foot setback requirements of the SC Shopping Center district. 4. The Planning Commission continued consideration of this matter until May 12, 1993 to allow the applicant to work with staff and Welsh 'Companies, the owner of the adjacent Crossroads Center, to address traffic and other concerns proposed by Welsh Company and the tenants of the Crossroads Shopping Center. Staff Recommendation: 1. It is recommended that the City Council continue this matter until May 24, 1993 to allow staff to work with the parties to resolve outstanding issues. Council Action Reauested: 1. Motion to continue consideration of Beechwood Acquisitions/computer City request for special use permit for site plan approval at Snelling Avenue and county Road B-2 until May 24, 1993.
