STS Project 94879-XF
.. September 27, 1989
Page 3

End of boring 7.0 feet.
Hand auger utilized.
No petroleum odors.
No groundwater encountered.

HNU Survey

An HNU Model 10 I photoionizer was used to examine the soil samples for volatile
organic vapor content. The HNU meter was equipped with a 10.2 eV lamp and was cali-
brated to a benzene reference. HNU meter deflections in parts per million (ppm) were
recorded for each of the samples examined. This test was perfonned by sampling the
air space immediately above the soil sample contained within a covered clean glass
jar.

Each soil sample was screened with an HNU meter. No values above background levels
were observed. Background levels were observed to be 0 to I ppm. All samples had HNU
meter readings of less than 1 ppm. The values were recorded and listed as follows:

Sample Number

HNU Meter Reading (ppm)

Boring B-3

Test Depth (Feet)

1.0 - 1.5
1.5-2.4

< 1
< 1

Boring B-4

Test Depth (Feet)

1.0 - 1.5
2.5 - 3.5
4.5 - 5.5
6.0 - 7.0

< I
< I
< I
< I

< = less than

Summary

STS Consultants.
