Boring B-1 was per- formed on top of the tank to confmn the location of the tank system. Boring B-2 was performed next to the tank system, on the northwest side of the tank. ] ] ] ] ] ] The location of borings B-) and B-2 are illustated in Figure 1. The tank appears to be located approximately parallel with the chimney and concrete structure and per- pendicular with the building wall. The tank is located beneath an asphalt paved area adjacent to Lexington School. The asphalt which overlies Tank # I is approximately 10 to 12 inches thick. The asphalt thickness is based upon the two soil borings con- ducted on top of and next to the tank. Offset vent and fill lines for the tank are located against the chimney building wall. The description of the soils encountered in borings B-1 and B-2 are presented as follows: Soil Boring Information Boring B-1 Depth (ft.) 0.0 - 1.0 1.0 - 1.4 1.4-2.4 Soil Description Asphalt. Gravely sand - brown - moist - (SP) - fill. Silty clay, trace gravel - brown - stiff - (CL) - fill. ", JI End of boring 2.4 feet. Hand auger utilized. Refusal top of tank. No petroleum odors.
