These would include: <br /> <br />o List of qualified contractors. <br />o Review of quote submittals. <br />o Recommendation for contractor selection. <br />o Administration of contract requirements, Le. bonding and insurance. <br />o Review of pay requests. <br /> <br />STS proposes to work directly with the selected contractor in order to minimize the admini- <br />stration by ISO #623 facilities personnel. STS Consultants, Ltd. will provide observation <br />and testing services in reference to site conditions and specification requirements. <br />During the tank removal process, STS will observe and document the condition of the tank <br />and piping removed. A safety trained environmental technician will examine the soils from <br />the excavation with a photoionizer, HNU or Photovac TIP, to detect the presence of petro- <br />leum product. STS will observe the excavation of any impacted soils removed and document <br />quantities. <br /> <br />Upon completion of the excavation, chemical samples of the soils will be obtained and <br />analyzed for benzene, ethylbenzene, toluene, and xyl~ne (BETX) and total petroleum hydro- <br />carbons (TPH) as fuel. The soil samples will confinn the condition of the soils once the <br />excavation has been completed. STS personnel will test backfill materials, soil compac- <br />tion. and asphalt placement to insure that the site is reconstructed in accordance with the <br />specifications. <br /> <br />- 4 - <br />
