5.a Recognize Girl <br />Scout Gold Award <br />Winners <br />1�;,� <br />r/.�,,, <br />In Appreciation <br />Courtney Gastecki <br />Whereas: The Girl Scouts of the USA has provided young women leadership opportunities for <br />more than 90 years; and <br />Whereas: The City of Roseville is committed to recognizing and honoring volunteerism and the <br />hard wark of inembers of the community; and <br />Whereas: Courtney Gastecki is a member of Girl Scouts of Minnesota; and <br />Whereas: Courtney is interested in educating the community on responsible pet ownership and pet <br />adoption; and <br />Whereas: Courtney partnered with St. Francis Assisi to educate the community about animal <br />abuse, spaying and neutering pets, and the benefits of adoption of purchasing pets; and <br />Whereas: Courtney recruited members of the Roseville Swim and Dive Team and the Roseville <br />Area High School Student Council, as well as her Girl Scout Troop, to help make presentations, <br />posters and pamphlets; and <br />Whereas: Courtney recruited volunteers to help collect needed items for the community animal <br />shelter; and <br />Whereas: The Roseville Public Library and Parkview School will carry on Courtney's project by <br />continuing to educate the public and provide needed items for animals in need. <br />Now, Therefore Be It Resolved, that the City Council hereby declare June 9, 2014, to be Girl Scout <br />Day in the City of Roseville and urges all citizens to recognize Courtney Gastecki's accomplishments <br />of earning the Girl Scout Gold Award. <br />In the City of Roseville, County of Ramsey, State of Minnesota, U.S.A. <br />In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the City of Roseville to be <br />affixed this ninth day of June 2014. <br />Mayor Daniel J.
