Dan McCarthy
Advance Circuits, Inc.
1633 Terrace Drive
Rosev111e, MN 55113

near Mr. McCarthy 1

You have asked me to research the feasibility ot adding
a screenwall of approximatelY 8 feet in height along the
north edg~ of your eastmoet building.

The pU.t'pose of this wall you14 be to screen the root-top
units from view.

The maior difficUlty of such an installation would be that
the sateen would have to be 15 teet or more north of the
building (rather like a long billboar4) in order to
eliminate drifting snow loads on the roof. The roof Is
not designed-to carry ~r1ft1ng snow loads.

Also, I would question the appearance of such a large
screen which would be out of proportion to the building
behind it.

I suggest painting -the units or other such remedy that
does not add loads to the roof.

Addition of reinforcing beams and columns inside the
building would -not be possible 4ue to clearance

problems with process equipment according to you.

Let me know if you need anything more on this.

ery truly your., .

~~

ames w.
