Quite
frankly, I was somewhat surprised that you were willing to
meet again considering the way some of the neighbors con-
ducted themselves at the September 23rd meeting. certainly
what you heard was a great deal of "venting" after a period
of frustration over apparent inactivity on ACI's part.

The nine action items appear to cover most of the concerns
expressed at the September 23rd meeting and do sound like
reasonable approaches to those concerns. However, I do have
2 comments regarding:

1) Cancer-causing substances.
2) Trash.

I'm not sure if you are aware that during the September 23rd
meeting after the brief discussion of cancer, the woman who
left rather hurriedly lost her husband to cancer last spring.
They lived in the house closest to your eastern building. We
lost our 7-year old Irish Setter to cancer in January. He
and the rest of our family spent a lot of time at Oasis Park
during those 7 years.

All I'm asking for is some information as to what extent you
have done or will be doing emissions testing. This certainly
is my primary concern"

As to the trash issue, while I think that trash compacting
may be a good start, it will fall far short of correcting
this problem. I do not envision that the car batteries and
tires that emerge from the snow in the spring blew out of a
trash container. (I will send you a videotape next March).
I do believe most of the trash results from careless behavior
on the part of employees. Perhaps the "Good Neighbor Team"
can address this problem.
