tX{C/'IL 1 ,_ C~

~~n

August 27, 1993

Mr. Thomas Muller
Chief Executive Officer
Advanced Circuits, Inc.
15102 Minnetonka Industrial Boulevard
Minnetonka, MN 55345

Dear Tom:

SUBJECT: ACI--ROSEVILLE PLANT NOISE REDUCTION PROGRAM

As you know, the City of Roseville and ACI have been working for
over two years on some of the noise problems affecting the
residential area to the north of your facility. We appreciate the
efforts of your firm to address these concerns, and particularly
the response by Dan McCarthy of your staff. However, nearby
residents are still being impacted by the noise from your facility
and other commercial and industrial properties in the vicinity.

On August 16, the Roseville City Council reviewed the noise
reduction plans for your manufacturing buildings located at 1633
and 1725 Terrace Drive. The City Council asked that I meet with
you to clarify that the noise reduction program must be
accomplished prior to and as a condition of the city's issuance of
a Certificate of Occupancy on your new building addition. The
primary goal is to contain noise to a level of 50 decibels as
heard from the area to the north, and to eliminate objectionable
intermittent noises.

The sound consultant jointly engaged by ACI and the City, David
Breslau, has recommended the following noise attenuation efforts:

1. New sound baffles and shields will be installed on all
equipment with a sound level over 50 decibels to meet the
State and City noise standards. A plan for these improvements
has been worked on cooperatively by Mr. Breslau and ACI Plant
Manager Dan McCarthy. The construction of these improvements
is underway.

2. ACI and Dan McCarthy will work with their staff to reduce
noise from the doors and overhead garage doors being left
open.

2(,()O CIYIC CE:\TER DRIYE · ROSE\-ILLE · ~lI:\:\ESOT.\ · 5511.1-1H99
612--!90-22()O · F.\..~ ()12--!9U-22iO
