<br />(4) Individual or private sewage treatment systems may <br />be permitted for new technologically sound systems <br />or unique building sites where it is clearly shown <br />that there is a hardship or practical difficulties <br />in the extension of public sanitary sewer service <br />to the structure. In such case, the property must <br />consist of a minimum of one acre and such private <br />system must be designed, installed and maintained <br />in accordance with the standards of the Minnesota <br />Pollution Control Agency "Individual Se'IVage <br />Treatment Systems Standards and Appendices", <br />(6MCAR Section 4.8Q40 or amendments thereto). <br /> <br />(5) All construction associated with on-site sewage <br />treatment systems shall comply with the provisions <br />of Chapter 7080 "Individual Sewage Treatment <br />Systems Standards" of the Minnesota Pollution <br />r.,..,nr,.,..,l Aaønr'\T{C: "'ll.,><:! An'\T in<:t-:'Ill::\t-i,..,n_ <br />...-.....---- --Q...........-J.... -......---. ----J -..-.........-----................, <br /> <br />alteration, repair or extension of such systems <br />shall be inspected by the Building Inspector <br />following completion of the work but prior to <br />covering of the system. L .. <br />De se~DacK a~ ~eas~ !)U [ee~ Lrom unw OL Na~ura~ <br />Environmental ~aters and at least 50 feet from the <br />OHW of General Development Vaters. <br /> <br />(6) All on-site sewage treatment systems are required <br />to be inspected and/or serviced at least every <br />three years in accordance ~ith the provisions of <br />said Chapter 7080. Such inspections shall be <br />conducted by a certified inspector at the expense <br />of the property owner and a copy of the inspection <br />report shall be submitted to the City Building <br />Inspector on a form prepared by the City. <br />Noncompliance ~ith these inspection provisions <br />shall be treated as a misdemeanor and each day in <br />violation shall be treated as a separate offense. <br /> <br />(7) Anyon-site sewage treatment system found to be a <br />public nuisance shall be brought into conformity <br />or discontinued within 30 days after receiving <br />written notice from the Building Inspector. <br />Further, as a condition of issuance of any permit <br />to expand the use of any premises served by an <br />individual sewage treatment system, such system <br />shall be inspected and if found to be noncompliant <br />it shall be brought into conformance or its use <br />discontinued within a period of time to be <br />established by the City Building Inspector. <br /> <br />200-118 <br />
