<br />* <br /> <br />** <br /> <br />(2) <br /> <br />(3) <br /> <br />(4) <br />(5) <br /> <br />50% of distance between ordinary high water mark and the structure setback from the <br />wateL <br />also permitted for docks, and off season storage of ice fishing houses and docks. <br /> <br />the structure or facility shall be constructed of material architecturally similar in design, <br />texture, and color to the principal structure on the lot; the design shall be reviewed by the <br />City Planner prior to issuance of building permits; <br /> <br />the structure shaII be screened a minimum of 50% by opaque vegetation or topography on <br />the 3 walls seen from the lake with ecologicaHy suited landscaping landward of the <br />ordinary high water level from the lake; <br /> <br />the roof shall not be used as a deck or used as a storage area. <br /> <br />the structure or facility shall not be designed or used for human habitation and shall not <br />contain utility systems; <br /> <br />18.050.4 Stairways, Chair Lifts, and Stair and Deck Landings. Stairways and chair lifts <br />shall be used for achieving access up and down bluffs and steep slopes to shore areas. Stairways <br />and lifts shall meet the following design requirements: <br /> <br />(1) stairways and chair lifts shall not exceed four feet in width on residential lots. Wider <br />stairways may be used for commercial properties, public open-space recreational <br />properties, and planned unit developments; <br /> <br />(2) stair and deck landings for stairways and chair lifts on residential lots shall not exceed 48 <br />square feet in area. Landings larger than 48 square feet may be used for commercial <br />properties, public open-space recreational properties, and planned unit developments; <br /> <br />(3) canopies or roofs shall not be permitted on stairways, chair lifts, or stair or deck landings; <br /> <br />(4) stairways, chair lifts, and stair or deck landings shall be either constructed above the <br />ground on posts or pilings, or placed into the ground, provided they are designed and built <br />in a manner that ensures control of soil erosion; <br /> <br />(5) stairways, chair lifts, and stair or deck landings shall be located in the most visually <br />inconspicuous portions of lots, as viewed from the surface of the public water assuming <br />summer, leaf-on conditions, whenever practical; and <br /> <br />(6) facilities such as ramps, chair lifts, or mobility paths for physically handicapped persons <br />shall be permitted for achieving access to shore areas, provided that the dimensional and <br />performance standards of sub items (1) through (5) are complied with in addition to the <br />requirements of Minnesota Rules, Chapter 1340. <br /> <br />18.050.5 Significant Historic Sites. No structure may be placed on a significant historic site in <br />a manner that affects the values of the site unless adequate information about the site has been <br />removed and documented in a public repository. <br /> <br />15 <br />
