7. Small Congested Dining Room
The new addition on the north side provides a new, bright and spacious dining area for
all residents. It also can serve as a spacious room for general staff meetings, or outside
community event opportunities.

8. Lack of Adequate Employee Lounge

The old physical therapy room in the basement would be the new location for a larger
more attractive employee lounge.

9, No Canopy to Protect IncominB: Residents, Visitors. Family Members from Inclement
Weather

The new front entry provides drop-off opportunity for residents who have been on outings
with family. The new canopy will also shield them from severe weather, and will also
create a more weIcoming entry for new prospective residents and families. It would also
serve as a loading place for resident van trips and will protect residents from severe
weather conditions.

10, Activity Space Enhanced

The old dining room will be a great location for activities. It is close to the dining room
and kitchen for special events. The new location has easy access to outside patio seating
which wí1l be ideal for residents and families in the summer months. The new activity
area will enhance the marketing of the center due to high visibility of resident activities.

CONCLUSION

We hope you see our problems and how this project will greatly assist the center's residents,
staff, quality of life and work environment. The comfort and good feelings of prospective
residents and family members is critical to our future success in Roseville. Not having a "front
door" that is welcoming and accommodating is unheard of in our service business today. We
must change to be more competitive or the service demand for Roseville Good Samaritan Center
could decline.

More and more residents will need physical therapy in the future. We will also serve more
people in the community by having a certified Medicare outpatient therapy clinic. The current
basement clinic would have a difficult time being marketable and being able to maintain
Medicare certification for outpatient therapy.

3
