4. With the attached letter, Ramsey County is requesting two changes related to the hazardous household waste site. The first relates to the length of time for thè interim use pemùt, the COUDty is requestiDg a teD year iDterim use permit rather than the previous two year penn it. Secondly, the County is requesting some tlexJòiJity in the time of the year they¡can op¢rate the sateUite sites. The current pennit allows the County to operate the site ¡for up io 8 weeks during spring and fall. The modification they are requesting wouid provifte the opportunity to allow site operations for up to 8 weeks during spring. summer1~ and fall. They have indicated that the site would likely be open no more than 8 weeks per calendar year. Staff RecOlllmeudatioD:· 1. The household ~azard~ waste collection satellite facility has been in operation in Roseville for foµ!' ye~. City records indicate that during that time, no complaints have been received bf the C~ty. Thìs surtàce is an obvious benefit for the citizens ofRoseville and the County ¡at larg~. Given the need for this type of service and the County's excellent track record in 9peratiqn during the last four years, staff recommends approval of the mension of the interil1i use permit to operate a seasonal collection site for household hazardous wast~ at the/County's site located at Kent Street, north ofLarpenteur Avenue and east ofDaIe Street! To provide scheduJingflexibility, the addition of the summer season to the cqllectioq period also does not pose a problem. The length of time for the interim use penrt is th~ only significant issue. In the past, the City has granted two year interim use permits ~ the County is now proposing a ten year interim use permit.
