The Ramsey Department of Public Health, Division of Solid Waste is requesting <br />an extension of its interim use pennit to operate a seasonal collection site for <br />household hazardous waste at their site, on Kent Street, north of Larpenteur <br />Avenue and east of Dale Street. In 1992, the Roseville City Coun~il approved the <br />County's request for a 2 year interim use pennit at this location. This pennit will <br />expire July 13, 1994. <br /> <br />2. Under State law, metropolitan counties are required to provide for collection of <br />household hazardous waste. Ramsey County has provided those services through <br />a contract with Dynex Industries. Dynex operates a year round household <br />hazardous waste collection facility in Moundsview and four seasonal satellites <br />during April through October, including the Roseville site. <br /> <br />3. With the attached letter, Ramsey County is requesting several minor changes in its <br />site operations. These modifications include additional hours of operation, <br />changes in the way materials are handled on site, modifications to their sign <br />program, a new canopy, and finally the County is proposing' an extension period <br />of five years. <br /> <br />Staff Recommendations: <br /> <br />1. The household hazardous waste collection satellite facility ha~ been in operation <br />in Roseville for two years. City records indicate that during that time no <br />complaints have been received by the City. This service is an obvious benefit to <br />
