T,he staff receiv~d a total of 5 <br />proposals. A summary statement about each is provided below. The next steps in this <br />process included a staff review period from February 21 to March 15th, during which time <br />we will meet with each development team and review in detail the conceptual proposal. The <br />staff will submit a review with comments and responses for the Council to consider at its <br />April 17th work session. THE DEVELOPERS WILL BE PRESENT FOR A 15 MINUTE <br />PRESENTATION EACH ON APRIL 17th. Further study meetings or meetings with the <br />development teams may be necessary to clarify Council issues. On April 24th (or <br />thereafter) the Council is scheduled to make its selection of the two year "exclusive <br />developer status" on the Arona site. <br /> <br />The development proposals received by the deadline at 4:30 pm on Friday, February 17, <br />1995 included the following (listed alphabetically): <br /> <br />DOMINION DEVELOPMENT and JOHNSON, SHELDON, & SORENSON, Architects. <br /> <br />A $9 to $11 million proposal for 160 units of housing; 112 in a 3 story apartment building and 48 <br />in villa single story 2 bedroom apartments (townhouses); a 4.1 acre park is also proposed. The <br />developer requests purchase Arona site for $320,000 to $560,000, depending on density. <br /> <br />MSPIMILO PINKERTON DEVELOPMENT and KLICK INTER ARCH DESIGN, <br />Architects. <br /> <br />A proposal for 252 units of housing; a 192 unit s story senior complex with underground parking <br />and 60 units of townhouse style family housing. management would be done by Common Bond. <br />The estimated value of the project is approximately $10,000,000. The proposal generates income <br />for the city through a combination of a long term lease/purchase option and a 15 year tax <br />increment in excess of rent-write down costs. <br /> <br />1 <br />
